Sophos Anti-Virus software provides integrated, cross-platform virus detection that is specifically designed for corporate networks. It protects laptops, desktops and servers by detecting, reporting and disinfecting viruses, Trojans, worms and spyware. Scheduled and on-demand scanning is provided by Sophos's powerful proprietary virus detection engine without affecting network performance. In addition, Sophos's patented InterCheck technology optimises on-access virus protection, utilising a unique combination of virus scanning and checksumming to minimise how many times files need to be checked and to keep resource usage low. Sophos Anti-Virus also incorporates powerful management tools which enable centralised installation, configuration, updating and reporting.

Sophos PureMessage is a trusted and proven solution that defends large organisations against viruses, spam and other email-borne security threats. Four million users rely on PureMessage to remove safely up to 98% of spam at the gateway, using the latest anti-spam techniques. Quarantine digests enable end-users to access blocked messages easily, eliminating the business impact of false positives. Industry-leading virus detection tools scan for known and unknown viruses, safeguarding the network against malicious code. Corporate communications policies are easily managed using PureMessage's flexible policy manager, for complete, precise control over mail filtering, protecting against network downtime and productivity loss.

MailMonitor reduces the threat of email-borne viruses at network boundaries. The software checks all email traffic passing through gateways and email servers, providing an extra layer of protection against mass-mailing viruses. Threat reduction technology in MailMonitor reduces users' exposure to virus threats even further, by blocking potential carriers - such as attachments with double extensions, Windows/DOS executables and files sent to many recipients or with specific subject lines - at the gateway, where they are quarantined and can be disinfected or deleted. MailMonitor also detects viruses in email attachments compressed with Zip and other popular compression utilities and has features that give administrators total network control.

EM Library is part of the Enterprise Manager suite, downloading Sophos Anti-Virus from a Sophos website, and deploying it to central installation directories (CIDs) across the enterprise, from which client computers can automatically update themselves. EM Library fetches both product upgrades and new virus identities. Updates are collected from the Sophos Databank – a website containing the latest versions of Sophos Anti-Virus and virus identity files (IDEs) – at pre-set times and on-demand. EM Library also enables network administrators to monitor their networks at all times, notifying them automatically when updates have taken place.
